  1. Move the affected person to an air-conditioned environment or a cool, shady area
  2. Remove any unnecessary clothing
  3. Wet his or her skin with cold water using a damp cloth or towel. Place ice packs under the person’s armpits, groin, and neck.
  4. Drink plenty of water and electrolytes when the patient is fully conscious
  5. Have the person lie down with their feet elevated
  6. Transport the person to a hospital as soon as possible.
