Why Choose BNH Hospital for Your Child's Healthcare?
At BNH Hospital, we believe caring for children means more than treating illness. We are committed to providing “Complete Care”—from disease prevention and routine health monitoring to accurate diagnosis and personalised treatment—supporting your child’s health and development at every stage of life.
What Makes BNH Child Health Centre Different:
- Specialist Paediatric Care Across Every Discipline
Our multidisciplinary team includes paediatric specialists across all major subspecialties, allowing children to receive accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment from the right expert at the right time.
- Comprehensive Care Throughout Childhood
We provide continuous healthcare for children from birth to 15 years of age, with long-term follow-up that enables our doctors to monitor growth, development, and overall health over time rather than focusing solely on individual illnesses.
- Holistic Assessment of Every Aspect of Health
Our comprehensive approach considers every aspect of a child’s well-being, including immunity, nutrition, sleep, dental health, vision, emotional well-being, learning, and social development.
- A Strong Focus on Prevention
Prevention is at the heart of our care. Through personalised vaccination schedules, regular health assessments, and early risk identification, we help reduce the likelihood of future illness while supporting healthy development.
- Caring for the Whole Family
When a child becomes unwell, it affects the entire family. Alongside caring for our young patients, we recognise the concerns and emotional challenges parents face. Our team provides clear guidance, reassurance, and ongoing support, helping families feel informed and confident throughout their child’s healthcare journey.
- Personalised Care Plans
Every child is unique. We develop individualised care plans based on each child’s medical history, examination findings, health risks, and treatment goals, ensuring care that reflects both the child’s needs and their family’s circumstances.
- Advanced Diagnostics and Precision Medicine
For complex or difficult-to-manage conditions, we utilise advanced diagnostic technologies, including precision medicine and molecular testing, to identify the underlying cause of disease more accurately. This enables more targeted treatment while reducing unnecessary investigations, antibiotics, and other treatments wherever possible.
- Multidisciplinary Team-Based Care
Children’s health concerns are often interconnected. Our paediatricians work closely with specialists in nutrition, child development, mental health, rehabilitation, and other disciplines to provide coordinated care that supports every aspect of your child’s health and development.
- Supporting Families Beyond the Hospital
We believe parents are their child’s most important caregivers. That’s why we equip families with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue caring for their children at home, ensuring that healthy habits and treatment plans extend well beyond the hospital.
Prevention-Focused Care Tailored to Every Stage of Childhood
At BNH Child Health Centre, prevention is at the heart of everything we do. By identifying potential health concerns early, we help reduce the risk of future illness and give every child the best opportunity to grow up healthy.
From birth through adolescence, our paediatricians provide age-appropriate preventive care that supports children’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.
Our preventive care includes:
- Monitoring growth, development, nutrition, emotional well-being, learning, and adolescent health.
- Identifying conditions that may not yet be apparent to parents, including hearing and vision problems, dental issues, anaemia, nutritional deficiencies, developmental delays, ADHD, and precocious puberty.
- Detecting health concerns early, when treatment is often simpler and more effective.
- Providing personalised vaccination schedules, including both routine and recommended vaccines, to help protect against serious infectious diseases.
Why Preventive Care Matters
Preventive healthcare allows potential problems to be identified before they affect a child’s health or development. Through regular developmental assessments, health screening, age-appropriate vaccinations, and personalised care planning, our specialists can identify hidden risks and support healthy growth at every stage of childhood.
Our goal is not simply to treat illness, but to help children build the strongest possible foundation for lifelong health. Parents are actively involved throughout the process, working closely with our doctors and nurses to make informed decisions about their child’s well-being.
This approach differs from seeking medical care only when symptoms appear. Rather than responding to illness after it develops, preventive care focuses on protecting children’s health, reducing future risks, and supporting long-term quality of life.
Health Priorities at Every Stage of Childhood
- Newborns (Birth to 28 Days)
During the first weeks of life, babies are adapting to the outside world while their organs and immune system continue to mature. Close monitoring and specialised care help support healthy development and identify any conditions that require early treatment.
- Infants and Toddlers (1 Month to 3 Years)
This is a period of rapid brain growth and physical development. Good nutrition, timely vaccinations, developmental screening, and appropriate sensory stimulation provide the foundation for lifelong health and learning.
- Preschool and School-Age Children, and Adolescents (4–15 Years)
As children grow, new health challenges emerge. Regular health assessments help monitor growth, behaviour, learning, emotional well-being, puberty, and hormonal development, allowing concerns to be identified and managed at an early stage.
Healthy Growth and Development: Holistic Care for Every Child
At BNH Hospital, we believe that healthy development goes beyond treating illness. Our holistic approach supports every aspect of a child’s well-being, including immunity, nutrition, sleep, dental health, vision, emotional well-being, learning, and social development.
We also recognise that caring for a child means supporting the whole family. Our team works closely with parents, providing guidance and reassurance to help them navigate the challenges of raising healthy, happy children.
By caring for every aspect of a child’s health and development, we help build the strongest possible foundation for lifelong well-being.
How Does Holistic Care Benefit Children?
- Prevention Before Illness Develops Regular health assessments, age-appropriate vaccinations, and personalised advice help protect children from preventable diseases and reduce future health risks.
- Early Identification of Health Concerns Many childhood conditions begin with subtle signs that parents may not notice. Regular assessments can detect concerns such as anemia, poor weight gain, vision or hearing problems, developmental delays, ADHD, precocious puberty, and other underlying health conditions at an early stage.
- Supporting Children During Critical Stages of Development Early diagnosis and timely intervention help ensure that children receive the right support during the key stages of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, maximising their long-term health and quality of life.
- Looking Beyond Individual Symptoms Rather than treating individual illnesses in isolation, we consider every aspect of a child’s health—including nutrition, immunity, sleep, dental health, vision, emotional well-being, learning, and social development—to provide truly comprehensive care.
- Building a Continuous Health Record Ongoing follow-up enables our paediatricians to monitor each child’s growth and development over time, identify emerging trends, and make informed decisions based on a complete picture of their health rather than isolated consultations.
Comprehensive Health Screening and Recommended Vaccinations
Supporting your child’s health means more than treating illness—it means preventing disease and monitoring healthy development at every stage of childhood.
According to the 2026 National Immunisation Programme issued by the Communicable Diseases Division, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, children should receive 12 essential vaccines, many of which require multiple doses or booster vaccinations to provide long-term protection against serious infectious diseases.
The Ministry of Public Health also recommends routine developmental assessments and age-appropriate health screening, including growth monitoring, hearing assessment, vision screening, and dental examinations, to ensure children are developing as expected.
While these essential vaccinations and health checks provide a strong foundation, BNH Child Health Centre also offers comprehensive health screening and additional recommended vaccinations tailored to each child’s age, lifestyle, travel plans, medical history, and individual risk factors.
Additional Recommended Vaccinations
Additional vaccines may be recommended according to a child’s age, underlying health conditions, school attendance, travel plans, or exposure risk.
- RSV vaccine Protection against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Eligibility depends on age and individual risk factors.
- EV71 vaccine Helps protect against hand, foot and mouth disease caused by Enterovirus 71. Typically given as two doses from six months of age.
- Influenza vaccine Recommended annually from six months of age to help protect against seasonal influenza, particularly for children attending nursery or school and those at increased risk of complications.

9. Newborn and Perinatal Care
Because every second is of the utmost importance for a newborn, BNH Hospital provides you with added peace of mind through our team of highly specialised neonatologists.
The first 28 days after birth represent a critical window that determines a child’s lifelong health and development. Newborns require more than just a standard incubator; they need the most perfect simulated ecosystem to help them acclimatise to the outside world. This is particularly crucial for premature infants, critically low birth-weight babies, or mothers with high-risk pregnancies. These infants frequently face severe complications, such as Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) due to a lack of pulmonary surfactant, and the risk of sepsis—a critical danger that can permanently damage a baby’s brain cells and retinas.
Prompt Emergency Response with our Highest-Standard Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
When a newborn faces a critical condition, the readiness of the facilities and equipment is vital in enabling doctors to respond swiftly. BNH Hospital is therefore fully equipped with a top-tier Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), featuring rigorous control of temperature and humidity, as well as strict infection prevention systems. Our treatment approach emphasises the use of innovation and deep molecular-level therapies to accommodate all types of critical neonatal cases, including:
- Therapeutic Cooling for Birth Asphyxia For babies who experience oxygen deprivation at birth, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling therapy) may help reduce the risk of brain injury. Our team is equipped to provide immediate resuscitation, advanced airway management and intensive neurological care when every minute matters.
- Comprehensive Care for Premature Babies Premature and critically ill infants receive continuous monitoring by our neonatal specialists, including regular cranial ultrasound examinations, cardiovascular assessment and daily evaluation of all major organ systems, allowing potential complications to be detected and treated at the earliest opportunity.
- Multidisciplinary Specialist Care Our neonatologists work closely with paediatric surgeons, paediatric cardiologists, neurologists, respiratory specialists and other paediatric subspecialists to provide seamless, coordinated care whenever specialist intervention is required.
Why Families Choose BNH for Newborn and Perinatal Care
- Our Complete Care Service for Nutrition and Breastfeeding integrates comprehensive care from before your baby is even born, laying a strong foundation from the womb through to their continued growth. We seamlessly link neonatology with nutritional and developmental systems.
- Premium ANC (Antenatal Care) Package for Prenatal Preparation: Working in collaboration with obstetricians to care for expectant mothers, this package allows you to consult with a neonatologist prior to giving birth. The specialist will assess any structural issues with the breasts and nipples, providing guidance and preparation for immediate breastfeeding on the day of delivery. This ensures that the newborn receives the “first milk” or colostrum—life’s best natural first vaccine.
- Partnering with Families for Emotional Support: Should it be necessary for your baby to be placed in a NICU incubator, our medical and nursing teams will communicate closely and provide regular updates on their condition. This helps to alleviate anxiety and support the parents’ emotional well-being. We actively encourage mothers to participate by expressing breast milk for their baby and coming in to hold their hands for encouragement. Medical research shows that a happy, stress-free mother produces a healthier supply of breast milk, which directly contributes to building the baby’s immunity and promoting a faster recovery within the incubator.
- Continuous Long-Term Developmental Monitoring: Our care does not end when your baby is discharged from the hospital. Our neonatal team works systematically alongside developmental paediatricians to monitor the child’s growth, administer necessary vaccinations, and stimulate development at each age milestone. This ensures that the infant will grow into a strong, healthy child with an excellent well-being in the future.
Attentive to Every Stage of Your Little One’s Growth. From the very first second of life, caring for every infant as if they were our own family is the heart and guiding philosophy of our expert team of neonatal and perinatal paediatricians, alongside the highly experienced registered nurses at the BNH Child Health Centre.

10. Child Nutrition
Although small, thin children are highly prone to malnutrition, having a normal weight or even being chubby does not guarantee that a child is receiving a fully balanced diet. A child may consume an adequate quantity of food whilst still lacking vital nutrients, resulting in a condition known as ‘Hidden Hunger’. This can have severe, lifelong repercussions on their physical development, intellectual capacity (IQ), and immune system.
Supporting Healthy Growth at Every Stage
- Underweight
Children who are underweight may not be consuming enough nutrients or may have underlying conditions affecting nutrient absorption. Food allergies, feeding difficulties and selective eating can also contribute to poor growth, delayed development, reduced immunity and impaired learning. - Overweight
Children who are overweight or obese may still experience nutritional deficiencies despite consuming excess calories. Diets high in processed foods, sugary drinks and unhealthy fats, together with insufficient physical activity, increase the risk of obesity-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, fatty liver disease and obstructive sleep apnoea. Excess body fat may also contribute to early puberty, which can limit final adult height and affect emotional well-being.
Why Choose BNH for Child Nutrition?
- Looking Beyond Weight and Height
Our assessment goes beyond routine growth measurements. We monitor each child’s growth over time, analysing previous and current measurements to evaluate growth patterns and predict future growth potential.
- Advanced Nutritional Assessment
- Using comprehensive laboratory investigations
We identify nutritional deficiencies that may not be immediately apparent, including iron, vitamin D and zinc deficiencies, as well as food allergies when clinically indicated. Early detection allows timely intervention before deficiencies affect growth and development. - Personalised Nutrition Therapy
Every child receives an individualised nutrition plan tailored to their age, medical condition and developmental needs. We provide specialist support for children with food allergies, selective eating, feeding difficulties and other nutritional concerns, ensuring they receive the nutrients needed for healthy growth and brain development. - Family-centred Nutritional Care
Healthy eating habits begin at home. We work closely with parents to develop practical, sustainable dietary habits that support lifelong health, helping families make informed nutritional choices together.
- Using comprehensive laboratory investigations

11. Paediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism
Some children experience an early growth spurt, which might seem like a cause for celebration. However, from a child development perspective, this could be an issue that causes them to stop growing prematurely, ultimately resulting in a shorter stature as adults.
Human growth mechanisms are regulated by growth hormone and sex hormones, which are produced by the endocrine glands. If a child enters ‘Precocious Puberty’, the premature secretion of sex hormones rapidly accelerates the bone growth process. This causes the growth plates to fuse and close earlier than usual. The sooner the growth plates close, the quicker the opportunity to increase their height is permanently lost.
Signs of Precocious Puberty
- Girls: Breast development before 8 years of age, Menstruation before 9½ years of age
- Boys: Testicular enlargement, pubic hair development or voice changes before 9 years of age
- Other signs: Rapid acceleration in height, Body odour, Acne, Early growth of pubic or underarm hair
Bone Age Assessment
Bone age assessment is an internationally recognised method of evaluating skeletal maturity. A simple X-ray of the left hand and wrist allows our specialists to compare your child’s bone development with their chronological age.
If bone age is significantly advanced—for example, if an 8-year-old child has the bone maturity of an 11-year-old—it may indicate that the remaining period of growth is shorter than expected. Early diagnosis allows timely treatment before the growth plates close.
Personalised Assessment and Treatment
When hormonal abnormalities are suspected, our paediatric endocrinologists provide comprehensive assessment to identify the underlying cause and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
This may include:
- Advanced endocrine investigations to evaluate pituitary, thyroid and adrenal gland function.
- GnRH analogue therapy for children with central precocious puberty, helping to temporarily delay puberty and preserve height potential.
- Growth hormone therapy, when clinically indicated, for children with confirmed growth hormone deficiency or other approved medical conditions affecting growth.
Supporting Healthy Growth and Overall Well-being
Our Complete Care approach focuses on comprehensive assessment, personalised treatment and long-term follow-up. By identifying and treating endocrine disorders early, we help children achieve their full genetic growth potential while supporting their physical, emotional and metabolic health.
Treatment may help to:
- Support emotional well-being and self-confidence.
Children who experience early physical development may feel self-conscious, anxious or isolated from their peers. Timely treatment helps them develop at a pace that is more consistent with their age, promoting confidence and emotional well-being.
- Reduce the challenges associated with early puberty.
For girls with precocious puberty, treatment may delay the onset of menstruation until they are developmentally and emotionally better prepared, helping to reduce practical and psychological challenges.
- Promote long-term metabolic health.
Appropriate management of endocrine disorders may reduce the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes and other metabolic conditions later in life.
At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric endocrinologists work closely with other paediatric specialists to provide personalised assessment, treatment and long-term follow-up, helping every child achieve their fullest growth and developmental potential.

12. Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics
Children today are growing up in an increasingly digital world. Excessive screen time, combined with a range of biological and environmental factors, may contribute to developmental concerns such as delayed speech and language, attention difficulties, social communication challenges and behavioural problems. Without timely assessment and support, these difficulties may affect a child’s confidence, emotional well-being and learning.
At BNH Child Health Centre, we believe every child develops in their own unique way. Our goal is to help children feel secure, understood and supported, while empowering families with the knowledge and skills to nurture healthy development. We believe that a happy child is better able to learn, grow and reach their full potential.
Unlocking Every Child's Potential Through Personalised Developmental Care
At BNH Child Health Centre, our approach goes beyond treating symptoms. We take the time to understand each child’s thoughts, emotions and individual developmental needs, working closely with families through four key pillars of care.
- Personalised Assessment and Individualised Care
Rather than focusing on what is “wrong” with a child, we seek to understand the underlying factors affecting their development. For example, aggressive behaviour may be an expression of frustration caused by difficulties with communication. Using internationally recognised assessment tools, our specialists identify each child’s individual strengths and challenges before designing a personalised intervention programme tailored to their developmental needs. - Behavioural and Executive Function (EF) Training
For children experiencing emotional dysregulation, impulsivity or attention difficulties, medication is not always the first step. Instead, we prioritise evidence-based interventions, including Executive Function (EF) training and the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), to strengthen self-regulation, communication, problem-solving and social skills while supporting healthy brain development. - Empowering Parents
Parents know their children better than anyone. We work alongside families to provide practical guidance and coaching that reflects each child’s personality and individual needs. By strengthening parenting strategies and creating a supportive home environment, we help families foster confidence, resilience and healthy emotional development. - Supporting Every Stage of Development
Periods of transition can be challenging for children. Whether welcoming a new sibling, preparing to start school or experiencing learning difficulties, our team provides ongoing guidance and support. We also assess concerns related to reading, writing, mathematics and specific learning disorders, helping every child develop the skills and confidence to thrive throughout childhood.
Every child has unique potential waiting to be discovered. With early understanding, expert guidance and the right support, every child can thrive.
At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric specialists in developmental and behavioural paediatrics partner with families to nurture each child’s development, confidence and well-being, laying the foundation for a lifetime of happiness, health and success.

13. Paediatric Infectious Diseases
Sore throats, colds and fever are among the most common illnesses in children. Many parents assume that antibiotics are needed, but in reality, most of these infections are caused by viruses. Antibiotics are effective only against bacterial infections and do not treat viral illnesses. Unnecessary use of antibiotics can contribute to antibiotic resistance and may also disrupt the balance of beneficial bacteria in the gut, which plays an important role in supporting a child’s immune system.
Because viral and bacterial infections often present with similar early symptoms, accurate diagnosis is essential. At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric infectious disease specialists focus on identifying the cause of infection as early as possible, enabling prompt, evidence-based treatment while ensuring antibiotics are prescribed only when clinically appropriate.
Expert Care for Childhood Infections
Our approach combines careful clinical assessment with advanced diagnostic investigations to determine the cause of infection quickly and accurately. This enables us to select the most effective treatment for each child while avoiding unnecessary antibiotic use. By practising responsible antibiotic stewardship, we not only help children recover from today’s illness but also protect their long-term health and preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics for the future.
- Accurate Diagnosis with Rapid Results
Our paediatric infectious disease specialists combine detailed medical history-taking and thorough clinical examination with advanced laboratory diagnostics to identify the cause of infection quickly and accurately. Our diagnostic capabilities range from rapid antigen tests, with results available within 15–30 minutes, to advanced molecular testing using real-time multiplex PCR, a highly sensitive and specific technique capable of detecting multiple pathogens from a single sample. - Targeted, Evidence-based Treatment
Once the cause of infection has been identified, our specialists develop an individualised treatment plan based on the child’s condition. Antibiotics are prescribed only when clinically indicated, helping to minimise unnecessary antibiotic use, reduce the risk of antimicrobial resistance and lower the likelihood of infection-related complications. - Comprehensive Infectious Disease Care
Our care extends beyond treating the infection itself. We provide practical advice on infection prevention and control at home, in schools and within the wider community, helping to reduce the risk of reinfection and limit the spread of infectious diseases. - Protecting Children Through Prevention
Prevention is an essential part of children’s healthcare. Our specialists provide personalised advice on vaccinations and passive immunisation where appropriate, recommending the most suitable protection for children at every stage of development, as well as for family members when indicated, to help build lasting immunity and protect the whole family.
Although childhood infections are common, the right diagnosis and treatment are essential to achieving the best possible outcomes.
At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric infectious disease specialists and multidisciplinary paediatric team provide comprehensive care—from accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment to vaccination and infection prevention—helping every child recover safely while protecting their health for the future.

Good vision plays a vital role in every aspect of a child’s development. From learning and language to physical coordination and social interaction, children rely on healthy vision to explore the world around them. Even mild vision problems can affect reading, learning, confidence and overall development if left undetected.
There is a wide variety of eye conditions that can affect children. Some of these can be noticed by parents themselves, such as a child experiencing eye pain, wandering eyes, a squint, an inability to move the eyes fully, droopy eyelids, constant watering, excessive eye discharge, an abnormal reflection in the pupil, red eyes, or white spots in the eye.
However, children may not be able to articulate certain abnormalities themselves, and others can be very difficult for parents to observe. Therefore, it is advisable to take your child to a paediatric ophthalmologist at the eye department for regular, comprehensive eye examinations. This ensures that any abnormalities can be detected and vision problems managed before it is too late
Common Childhood Eye Conditions
1. Myopia (Short-sightedness)
Myopia, or short-sightedness, occurs when the eye grows too long from front to back, causing distant objects to appear blurred. Beyond affecting a child’s vision and learning, progressive myopia is associated with an increased risk of serious eye conditions later in life, including retinal detachment, myopic macular degeneration, glaucoma and early cataracts.
Both genetic and environmental factors contribute to the development and progression of myopia. Prolonged near work—such as reading, using smartphones or tablets, and online learning—together with limited time spent outdoors, may accelerate its progression. Research suggests that exposure to natural daylight stimulates the release of dopamine in the retina, which helps slow excessive eye growth.
At BNH Child Health Centre, our dedicated Myopia Control Centre provides evidence-based care designed to slow the progression of myopia and reduce the long-term risk of vision-threatening eye disease.
Our paediatric ophthalmologists develop an individualised management plan for every child, based on their age, visual needs and rate of myopia progression. Treatment may include comprehensive eye examinations, low-dose atropine eye drops, specially designed myopia-control spectacles or contact lenses, together with practical lifestyle recommendations such as increasing outdoor activity and reducing prolonged near work.
Because children’s eyes continue to grow and change, we regularly review each child’s progress and adjust their treatment plan when appropriate, helping to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes and protect their vision for the future.
2. Strabismus (Squint)
Strabismus, commonly known as a squint, occurs when the eyes are not properly aligned and do not look in the same direction. The condition may be constant or intermittent and can affect one or both eyes.
Normal visual development depends on both eyes working together as a team. Each eye should have good vision, and both eyes must remain properly aligned to allow the brain to combine the images into a single, clear picture. If either eye is weaker or the eyes are misaligned, normal visual development may be disrupted, leading to amblyopia (lazy eye), impaired depth perception and, in severe cases, permanent vision loss if left untreated.
Although correcting a squint can improve appearance, confidence and social interactions, treatment is primarily aimed at protecting and developing normal vision. Early diagnosis is essential, as treatment is most effective during the first few years of life while the visual system is still developing.
At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric ophthalmologists provide individualised treatment based on the type and severity of the condition. Depending on each child’s needs, treatment may include prescription glasses, prism lenses, eye exercises, botulinum toxin injections or strabismus surgery. Our goal is not only to straighten the eyes but also to achieve the best possible visual development and long-term eye health.
3. Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)
Amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye, is a condition in which vision does not develop normally during early childhood. During the first few years of life, the brain relies on clear images from both eyes to develop normal vision. If one eye does not provide a clear image, the brain gradually begins to favour the stronger eye, resulting in reduced vision in the affected eye.
Without early diagnosis and treatment, amblyopia can lead to permanent visual impairment. Children with amblyopia continue to have reduced vision in the affected eye even after any refractive error has been fully corrected with glasses. Common underlying causes include strabismus (squint), drooping eyelids (ptosis) and significant differences in refractive error between the two eyes.
Early diagnosis is essential, as treatment is most effective while the visual system is still developing. In children with both strabismus and amblyopia, treatment of the amblyopia is usually started before surgery to correct the eye alignment. Depending on the cause, treatment may include prescription glasses, patching therapy, atropine eye drops and management of the underlying eye condition to encourage normal visual development.

15. Paediatric Dentistry
At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric dentists believe that good oral health begins long before toothache develops. We focus on preventive care, helping children build positive experiences and lifelong healthy habits so they can grow up feeling confident and comfortable about visiting the dentist.
Why Choose BNH for Your Child's Dental Care?
- Preventing Tooth Decay from an Early Age
Prevention is at the heart of our care. We provide regular dental examinations, fluoride applications, fissure sealants, and personalised advice on toothbrushing, diet and reducing sugary foods and drinks to help prevent tooth decay before it starts. - Creating Positive Dental Experiences
Our paediatric dentists use child-friendly communication and behavioural guidance techniques to help children feel relaxed and secure throughout their visit. By building trust from an early age, we help children develop lifelong confidence in dental care. - Protecting Baby Teeth
Primary (baby) teeth play an essential role in chewing, speech development and healthy jaw growth. They also preserve the space needed for permanent teeth to erupt correctly. Whenever possible, we aim to preserve primary teeth until they are naturally replaced. - Monitoring Dental Development
As children grow, we carefully monitor the eruption of permanent teeth, jaw development and bite alignment. Early assessment allows us to identify problems such as crowded teeth, malocclusion and jaw abnormalities, enabling timely intervention when needed. - Personalised Preventive Care
Every child has different oral health needs. Children with a higher risk of tooth decay—such as those with poor oral hygiene, frequent sugar consumption, orthodontic appliances or certain medical conditions—receive personalised preventive care and tailored follow-up plans. - Partnering with Families
Good oral health starts at home. We work closely with parents to establish healthy daily routines, including effective toothbrushing, balanced nutrition and regular dental check-ups, helping children maintain healthy smiles for life.
Children should have their first dental examination when their first tooth erupts, or no later than their first birthday. Early visits help establish preventive care, familiarise children with the dental environment and lay the foundation for lifelong oral health.
At BNH Child Health Centre, our paediatric dental team is committed to supporting your child’s oral health and every stage of their growth and development—from their very first tooth onwards.
