BNH Hospital organised a cooking demonstration titled “Kin Kluen Kuen Suk” (eating well, swallowing well, restored health and happiness) to educate dysphagia sufferers, caretakers, and the general public. Dr. Apichai Chaiyaroj, Assistant Director of BNH Hospital, presented a welcome speech and launched the event. The cooking demonstration was led by Chie Yasumori @ Kuriko, Cooking Specialist & Nursing Care Food Advisor, from Japan. Khun Kuriko has innovated special culinary techniques, by finely grinding foods, whilst retaining the form, taste, smell, and texture. Her techniques help to stimulate appetite in patients and enable them to eat more conveniently, all while ensuring that they consume enough nutrients. Dr. Pranathip Rinkaewkan, PhD.MD. Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist at BNH Hospital, and Khun Nadia Kijjaroenthorn, Dietitian at BNH Hospital, also participated in the discussion to share more about dysphagia and nutrition.
The attendees were also give the chance to taste all 3 demonstrated dishes at the end of the event, prepared by a team of BNH Chefs led by Khun Sukvadee Jotisalikorn, F&B Manager, after learning from Khun Kuriko.
